CONTEMPORARY UNDERCURRENT OF SONG PROJECT

The Contemporary Undercurrent of Song Project creates a platform for modern classical compositions for the voice by supporting both emerging and established performers, composers, and visionaries in the world of contemporary music.   Audiences will become familiar with the music of our time – the music being composed and performed all around them, previously unheard and unseen.  Young performers are given the chance to create something new through unique programming.  Composers can work closely with artists to bring their work to life.

Benefit Concert for Lebanon Family Health Services

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Lebanon Family Health Services will present a special concert on Sunday, at 1:30 p.m., at the Allen Theatre in Annville. Admission will be by donation. All of the proceeds will benefit LFHS, which is celebrating 40 years of serving the community.
The concert will feature three acclaimed classical musicians – all alums of the Manhattan School of Music in New York City – Noor Sandhu, a mezzo-soprano; Sophia Subbayya Vastek, on piano; and Eric Umble, on clarinet.

The recital will include masterworks from the repertoires of Mozart, Copland, Wolf and Spohr, as well as the North American premiere of a commissioned work by New York composer Rex Isenberg.
